Overview
What does a Shopify developer do?
A Shopify developer designs, builds and customises online stores on Shopify — the hosted e-commerce platform — covering the theme, product catalogue, checkout settings, apps and integrations. Ants Creation (Pvt) Ltd builds Shopify stores for brands in Sri Lanka and abroad, designed and developed in-house.
Shopify suits product brands that want a reliable, hosted store with secure checkout and a large app ecosystem, without managing servers. We tailor the theme to your brand, structure the catalogue for search, and set up the payments, shipping and taxes your markets need.
Every store is tuned for speed and conversion — clear navigation, fast product pages and a frictionless checkout — and handed over with training so your team can run it day to day.

Common questions
Shopify development: frequently asked questions
Is Shopify a good choice for an online store in Sri Lanka?
For many brands, yes: Shopify is hosted, secure and quick to launch, with no servers to manage and a large app ecosystem. Payment and delivery options for your markets are checked during discovery, because they decide whether checkout works for your customers. Where Shopify does not fit, for example for marketplaces or complex B2B pricing, we recommend a custom e-commerce build.
Can you customise my existing Shopify theme?
Yes. We can adapt your current theme or build a custom one, depending on how far the design needs to change. Either way, the store is tested on phones and desktops before the changes go live, so customers never see a half-finished design.
Can you migrate my store to Shopify?
Yes. Products, customers and order history can be migrated from WordPress, a custom platform or another hosted store, with old URLs redirected to protect search rankings. We check the migrated data and the redirects before launch, so the switch is invisible to your customers.
Will I be able to manage the store myself?
Yes. Shopify’s admin is straightforward, and we show your team how to add products, process orders, run discounts and edit pages at handover, so routine changes do not need us. Larger changes, such as new features or a theme update, can be added later.
Can Shopify connect to my other systems?
Yes. ERP, CRM, accounting, inventory and marketing tools can be connected through Shopify apps or custom API integrations, scoped during discovery, so orders and stock do not have to be typed twice. Ants Creation’s own Vero platforms can also be connected, set up per project.
How much does a Shopify store cost?
It depends on the theme work, the apps, the integrations and how many products are migrated. Shopify itself charges a monthly plan fee and some apps charge their own fees; our build is quoted separately, free of charge, after a short discovery call. Our e-commerce cost guide explains the main factors.
What support do you provide after a Shopify store launches?
A six-month bug-fixing warranty comes with every Shopify store we build. After it, theme updates, new features, seasonal campaign changes and help for your team are provided under a service level agreement (SLA) or an annual maintenance agreement, with fees and scope agreed separately. Shopify itself runs the hosting and checkout and charges its own monthly plan fee, and some apps charge their own fees.
