Overview

What is brand development?

Brand development is the creation of a brand's visible identity — logo, colour, typography, imagery and voice — and its application across every touchpoint, so customers recognise and trust it. Ants Creation (Pvt) Ltd develops brand identities for organisations in Sri Lanka and abroad, from the first logo sketch to finished printed and digital materials.

We design identities as systems rather than single logos: a set of elements that work together on a business card, a signboard, a website and a vehicle, and a guide that keeps them consistent when other people use them.

Because we print as well as design, every element is specified for real materials and finishes, so the identity holds up in print as well as on screen.

Common questions

Brand development: frequently asked questions

What do I receive at the end of a brand development project?

A logo in every format you need, with variations for different sizes and backgrounds; the colour and typography system; graphic elements; brand guidelines your team and suppliers can follow; and the branded materials agreed in the proposal, such as stationery, presentations or social media templates. Ants Creation supplies master files for print and digital, and editable artwork files free on request.

Can you design a logo only?

Yes. Ants Creation designs logos on their own, with variations for every size and background and files for print and digital. A logo works best as part of an identity system, so we recommend at least colour and typography rules alongside it; without them, different suppliers tend to use the logo inconsistently. The logo can be extended into a full identity later.

Do you print the branded materials?

Yes. Business cards, letterheads and company profiles are printed by digital offset at Ants Creation’s own print shop, and signboards are designed and printed in-house. Packaging samples and small quantities are also made in-house, and bulk packaging is produced by outside suppliers. Every element is specified for real materials and finishes, so colours hold up in print. See digital offset printing.

How do you keep a brand consistent across suppliers?

With brand guidelines that set clear rules for the logo, colours, typography and voice; master files and templates that other suppliers and your own team can use; and by producing as much as possible in-house. Ants Creation designs the identity, builds the website, runs campaigns and prints stationery and signboards, so fewer hands interpret the brand.

What does a brand development agency do?

A brand development agency creates a brand’s visible identity and applies it everywhere the brand appears. At Ants Creation that means the logo, colour, typography, imagery and brand voice, designed as one system, then brand guidelines, master files and branded materials for print and digital. We develop identities for organisations in Sri Lanka and abroad, and print much of what we design at our own print shop.

Do you design packaging and labels?

Yes. Packaging and labels are designed in your brand identity, with colours, materials and finishes specified for production. Ants Creation makes packaging samples and small quantities at its own print shop, including cutting and assembly, and bulk packaging is produced by outside suppliers. Tell our design team on 077 282 0431 (also WhatsApp) about the product and the quantities you need, for a free quote.

Who owns the logo after the project?

You do, once the project is paid in full. After full payment, the copyright in the logo and brand designs Ants Creation creates for you belongs to you, and you receive the master files for print and digital, with editable artwork files free on request. Your own team and other suppliers can then apply the identity consistently, following the brand guidelines.
