Overview
What is a firewall configuration review?
A firewall configuration review checks the rules and settings that decide what traffic your firewall allows. Over time rules pile up, temporary openings stay open and settings drift. Ants Creation (Pvt) Ltd’s own security team reviews them under an NDA and shows which changes close real gaps.
You receive a report with each issue rated by severity and the change needed, and one re-check after you make the changes.

Common questions
Firewall configuration review: frequently asked questions
Which firewalls do you review?
Ants Creation’s security team reviews network firewalls on your premises and firewall settings in cloud accounts. The devices in scope are agreed when we scope the review and set out in writing, alongside an NDA. For each one we check the rules, temporary exceptions, who can manage it and from where, firmware and security settings, logging, and where it sits in the network.
Do you change the rules for us?
Ants Creation gives you the exact change to make for each issue, rated by severity. Your team can make the changes, or ours can, as agreed with you. After the changes are made, one re-check of the fixed issues is included, to confirm each gap is closed. A network penetration test can then show the result from outside.
How often should firewall rules be reviewed?
At least once a year, and after major network changes such as a new office, a new cloud service or a new firewall. Over time rules pile up, temporary openings stay open and settings drift, so a regular review keeps the firewall allowing only what the business needs. Ants Creation’s security team checks every rule against what the business needs.
