Overview
What is server security hardening?
Server security hardening reduces the ways a server can be attacked: turning off what is not needed, tightening settings, limiting accounts and keeping software up to date. Ants Creation (Pvt) Ltd’s own security team carries it out under a written authorisation and an NDA.
We review each server’s current setup, agree the changes with you, and either make them or guide your team through them, on your premises or in the cloud.

Common questions
Server security hardening: frequently asked questions
Will hardening break our applications?
Hardening changes are agreed with you before anything is touched, and can be tried on a test server before they are made on live ones, so any effect on an application shows up first where it does not reach users. Ants Creation’s security team records what was changed and why, so every change can be traced and reviewed later.
Do you harden cloud servers?
Yes. Ants Creation’s security team hardens servers on your premises and in the cloud: unneeded services and open ports switched off, admin accounts and remote access tightened, missing security updates applied, settings made secure, logs kept and backups checked. For the cloud account around the servers, see our cloud security assessment.
How often should servers be reviewed?
After major changes, such as a new application or an operating system upgrade, and regularly as new security updates and weaknesses are published. Settings drift over time as software is added and accounts change, so a regular review keeps the hardened setup in place. Ants Creation’s security team can recommend a review schedule based on how your servers are used.
